Dr Joseph Murray, a second-year medical oncology fellow, discusses an article titled "Art of Precision Medicine" published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology's Art of Oncology series. He describes a profound patient experience wherein he learned about the challenges in precision medicine, particularly when we feel it cannot be delivered. Through the lens of a patient he took care of with end-stage lung cancer, he learned that -- even more than a precise, targeted therapy -- care is imparted in many ways, including from patient to physician.
